The SCSA:

It is a Government of Western Australia’s statutory authority with responsibility for Western Australian curriculum from Kindergarten to Year 12

SCSA reports directly to the Minister for Education and Training and Minister for International Education

SCSA is administered by a seven-member board, consisting of the foremost university academics and school leaders

SCSA works closely with school leaders and principals locally and internationally

SCSA provides quality curriculum, assessment and standards of achievement so that students may become confident, creative individuals, successful lifelong learners and active, informed members of the community.
The role of SCSA International is to:
• The Authority's role is to: set out the mandated curriculum that shows teachers what they are expected to teach.
• To provide quality curriculum, assessment and standards of achievement for all students studying the Western Australian curriculum

develop and accredit school curriculum.

assess student achievement in relation to the curriculum through the administration of standardised testing and Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) course examinations.

certify senior secondary achievement.

report on the standards of student achievement

determine equivalence with other qualifications for students entering Western Australia from overseas.
